A driver was killed early Monday morning when a loose truck tire slammed into their windshield on the 60 Freeway in Pomona.

The truck was traveling on the westbound 60 Freeway when it lost a tire which slammed into a car on the eastbound lanes.

The victim's car was struck by a tire that had broken loose from a truck in opposing traffic lanes, according to the CHP.
