On Sunday night, the Washington Nationals took Georgia high school shortstop Eli Willits at No. 1 in the MLB Draft. It was a bit of a surprise, as many expected them to select pitcher Kade Anderson of LSU, but it's another pick that gives hope to a Nationals franchise that is currently in last place in the National League East.

Henseler, who played his final collegiate season at Texas A&M University, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the ninth round of the MLB Draft on Monday. He was the 261st overall pick.

East Union pitcher Landon Harmon, a Mississippi State signee, was selected No. 80 overall by the Washington Nationals in the 2025 MLB Draft.
