Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) did a digital strut on Sunday after helping Democrats stall the advancement of Donald Trump’s latest nominees. As senators departed for their monthlong August recess, the failure to reach a last-minute deal left the nominations in limbo.

Hours of tense negotiations to strike a deal on President Donald Trump’s nominees blew up Saturday night, and now lawmakers are headed home.

"Historically bad nominees deserve historic levels of scrutiny," Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer maintained.
