Most of the protests took place on Monday for "A Day Without Immigrants." The movement encouraged many people to stay home from work, not spend any money, and not to take their kids to school in protest Trump's immigration and deportation policies.

The protest was one in a series of rallies spurred by President Donald Trump's promises of a crackdown on undocumented immigration.

Protesters gathered in downtown Los Angeles on 2 February in response to a recent increase in ICE raids and deportations under President Trump's immigration crackdown. Thousands of people carrying Mexican flags and placards marched to Los Angeles City Hall before walking onto and blocking the 101 Freeway.
