Having already been rebuffed by five different teams in their requests to interview replacements for Tom Thibodeau, the New York Knicks may finally be ready to start looking outside the realm of currently employed coaches in their search for a new bench boss.

Jenkins was fired by the Grizzlies in March. He’s now a candidate for the Knicks head coaching vacancy, according to a report by The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

New York took swings at coaches under contract that interested them, such as Dallas' Jason Kidd, but was rejected at every turn.
