Vibrant hues of green, pink, and purple danced across the night sky over New Hampshire on Monday night as a strong geomagnetic storm hit Earth.

The Space Weather Prediction Center issued a “severe” geomagnetic storm watch on Sunday, meaning the auroras will be visible across the northern part of the country. What’s interesting about this current storm is that magnetic activity is expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday nights across northern New England.

A geomagnetic storm has been impacting earth and as of this morning the K index was as high as 8! But this was right at sunrise across New England, with lots of clouds around from a departing low pressure system so we didn’t get to see the aurora this time.
