In its lawsuit, Reddit said Anthropic had also declined to enter into a licensing agreement for data and had unjustly enriched itself at Reddit’s expense.

Reddit sued Anthropic on Wednesday in San Francisco superior court, claiming that the OpenAI rival had accessed its platform more than 100,000 times since July 2024, after Anthropic allegedly said it had blocked its bots from doing so.

The online discussion forum says Anthropic continued to access its site more than 100,000 times after saying it had stopped.
