Handset and automotive revenue came up short, but Qualcomm’s CFO says the company is in a good spot to benefit from the rise of smart glasses and changes to the car industry.

Qualcomm projected fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $10.3 billion to $11.1 billion, with adjusted EPS from $2.75 to $2.95. The midpoint of each range, at $10.7 billion and $2.85, was about in line with what analysts currently project.

Qualcomm reported better-than-expected earnings results for the June quarter, but its shares fell in early trading Thursday. Investors likely had higher expectations after the stock’s big rally since early April.
