New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by federal agents for allegedly assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer while escorting a defendant out of immigration court Tuesday,

Lander was released four hours after his arrest. He told the media that he was at the courthouse to "accompany" a defendant out of immigration court.
