Weather Service issues heat advisory for South Florida; index temp may hit 107 in WPB
While the actual temperature will reach 93 today, the “feels-like” heat index temperature is predicted to reach 107 in West Palm Beach, and 109 in Immokalee. The advisory is in effect for all of South Florida except for coastal Collier County and mainland Monroe County.
National Weather Service issues heat advisory as index predicted to reach up 110 degrees
NWS expects the heat value to go up to 110 degrees. The organization warns that hot temperatures, coupled with humidity, may cause heat illness. Precautionary measures provided by NWS include drinking plenty of water, staying out of the sun and staying in air-conditioned rooms.
