Officials say Indonesian rescuers have retrieved the body of a Brazilian hiker who died after falling from the ridge of a volcano

A young Brazilian hiker who fell hundreds of feet from the ridge of a towering Indonesian volcano and was trapped there for almost four days was found dead on Tuesday, Brazil's government said. For days, millions of people in Brazil had watched, posted and prayed as rescuers tried to locate her.

The young woman’s body was lifted from the volcano and transported on a stretcher to a base by Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency. It will then be taken to a hospital for an autopsy. After that, the family will handle the procedures to repatriate Juliana’s body to Brazil.
