The messy divorce between Marcus Rashford and Manchester United officially reached the ‘separation’ stage over the weekend as the 27-year-old’s loan move to Premier League rival Aston Villa

Aston Villa have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford. Villa will cover a minimum of three-quarters of the England forward’s wages for the duration of his stay and up to 90 per cent depending on performance-based bonuses.

It could be a blessing in disguise that he was pushed out of his boyhood club by Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old now embarks on a new chapter in his career and there’s no better manager for him than Emery to allow him to enjoy his football again.
