U.S. District Judge Loren Alikhan sided with a group of nonprofit organizations, saying that a freeze on federal assistance "may be crossing a constitutional line."

U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan indefinitely blocked the Trump administration’s federal funding freeze Tuesday. AliKhan ruled in favor of the National Council of Nonprofits’ claim the freeze is a violation of the First Amendment and exceeded the granted authority of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
