A tornado touched down in Central Florida on Monday, crossing over a local TV station in the middle of their live broadcast about the severe weather.

Residents were urged to seek shelter after a tornado caused damage in Seminole County, Florida, the National Weather Service in Melbourne said.

A confirmed tornado was spotted in Lake Mary and Sanford, Florida, north of Orlando. FOX 35 Orlando reports the tornado moved across I-4 possibly damaging their studio in Lake Mary. The Tornado-warned storm continues to move to the east toward the coast on Monday morning.

The twister with winds near 70 mph was recoded at 9:30 a.m. in Lake Mary, a city about 19 miles north of Orlando. At the time, a tornado warning was in effect for Sumter County, but it has since expired.
