Justin Fields was carted off the practice field with a dislocated right toe, although the Jets said the quarterback avoided suffering a serious injury.

According to a report from ESPN's Rich Cimini, Fields has suffered an injury to his toe. There has been no update about the severity of the injury yet. Fields was signed to be the replacement for Aaron Rodgers during NFL free agency. The Jets gave him a two-year, $40 million contract.

Connor Hughes of SNY explained that it's unclear what exactly caused Fields' injury, as the Jets first team returned to the field for just one play before he went down. He reportedly "stood up, sat down, then stood up before he limped off the field [very] gingerly."
