If you've upgraded to an iPhone 16 version from an old iPhone with a Mute switch, you'll see that Silent Mode icon pop up in the status bar the first time you use the Action button to mute the phone.

If you don't want to see the person icon on your iPhone's status bar, it's easy to remove it: just turn off Personal Focus. You've got a few ways to do this.
