Magnus Carlsen, the 2025 Norway Chess winner, recently said Gukesh could lose his World Champion title and that he is not ahead of track yet, just on track. Carlsen also reflected on his own performance in the tournament.

After beating D Gukesh, Hikaru Nakamura mocked the Indian GM for his preparation and also felt that he didn't deserve to beat Magnus Carlsen.

Magnus Carlsen opined that reigning world champion D Gukesh won’t be the favourite to defend his title, if one of the experienced trio of Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana or Ian Nepomniachtchi claims the challenger spot through the Candidates.
