The Georgia Republican on Monday sent a letter to the Justice Department calling for the former congressman's fraud sentence to be commuted.

Ms. Greene, the hard-right House Republican from Georgia, called her former colleague’s seven-year sentence “excessive” in a letter to the U.S. pardon attorney.

Santos, a former congressman from New York state, is serving a seven-year prison sentence for fraud and identity theft.
