Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has called for increased Arctic defence collaboration with the United States during a visit to Greenland, and firmly dismissed Washington’s desire to annex the semi-autonomous Danish territory.

Denmark’s prime minister vowed she would not surrender Greenland to the US as she visited the autonomous Danish territory that Donald Trump wants to take over. Speaking in English and addressing Mr Trump directly, Mette Frederiksen said, “you cannot annex another country”.
