Adelita Grijalva, daughter of the late Congressman Raúl Grijalva, won Tuesday's Democratic primary in the special election to replace her father, and will advance to this fall’s general election.
Adelita Grijalva won the primary race for Arizona's 7th Congressional District—a seat her father, the late Democratic Congressman Raul Grijalva had previously held—beating out 25-year-old digital strategist Deja Foxx on Tuesday night. Newsweek reached out to Foxx via X, formerly Twitter.
Deja Foxx came in a distant second in the CD 7 special primary, but the political newcomer did not come in last and boasted extensive use of social media.
