As protests continue in the U.S. over immigration enforcement raids, Abbott says he will deploy the state's National Guard as needed.

HOW WE GOT HERE: The protests erupted after Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on Friday carried out raids in three locations across L.A., where dozens of people were taken into custody. Newsom called the raids “chaotic federal sweeps” that aimed to fill an “arbitrary arrest quota.”

The Dallas Community Police Oversight Board previously sent a letter to the Dallas Police Chief, but board members are now asking for a more detailed explanation.
