Pusha T and Malice tell us they left Def Jam because the label objected to a Kendrick Lamar verse on their first Clipse album since 2009

"They wanted me to ask Kendrick to censor his verse, which of course I was never doing," Pusha T said in an interview GQ, adding that he and Clipse left the label over the disagreement.

Clipse have revealed that their departure from Def Jam was reportedly sparked by a dispute over Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse on their upcoming album, "Let God Sort Em Out".
