Cleveland's former top prospect who battled through injuries delivers emotional two-run shot in 5-1 victory over Detroit.

The Cleveland Guardians released an official update on David Fry. Fry suffered multiple fractures to his face and nose after taking a fast ball to his cheek. He will, thankfully, be able to avoid surgery and is looking at a 6-8 week recovery time.

Valera entered Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Tigers in the sixth inning after David Fry (face) was injured by a foul ball. Valera went 0-for-1 and finished the game as the designated hitter.
