MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) announced on Thursday that “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” will be ending in May 2026.

Colbert, however, has consistently led competitors in his time slot. CBS said this was “purely a financial decision,” made as traditional linear television fades.
