The Cuban government has announced Assata Shakur died in Havana on Thursday at the age of 78. Shakur was a legendary figure within the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army.
Assata Shakur, a US citizen and Black Liberation Army member died in Cuba on Friday. She was on FBI's ‘most wanted’ list and was wanted for escaping from prison in Clinton, New Jersey, while serving a life sentence for murder. As per FBI documents, Shakur was accused for acts of terrorism, and ‘unlawful flight to avoid confinement’ - murder.
