A woman has been sentenced to a year in prison after admitting to hiding her dead boyfriend in a basement and collecting his Social Security benefits.

Officers responded to the 6000 block of Morningside Drive around 7:30 p.m., finding Dashawn Cotton suffering from a stab wound.

Court documents show the mother's boyfriend allegedly admitted to hitting the 7-year-old boy and pushing him down the day before he died.
