YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KFSN) -- As containment continues to grow on the Washburn Fire, the south entrance to Yosemite Valley on Highway 41 will re-open.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (KFSN) -- A California Highway Patrol officer is home and recovering after getting pinned between two vehicles. Officials say it happened at about 11 Sunday morning.
“At 1:10 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Yosemite National, or 16 miles north of Yosemite South Entrance, moving southwest at 5 mph,” states the NWS Hanford CA.
Glacier Point Road South of Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point Road is closed, but not because of the fire. The road is undergoing an improvement project that started in April.
