Carrie Underwood is showing the world a new side of herself, one we haven’t seen since she was a preteen. Yep, she’s going back to her roots, literally. The country star, 42, just debuted her natural hair color for the first time since she was 12 years old.

Underwood, who rocketed to fame after winning the fourth season of “American Idol” in 2005, also thanked Nashville-based hairstylist Katelin Megert for “helping me get back to my roots,” before ending the post with the hash tags #NewOldMe and #Bronde.
