Police arrested a Wharton man for allegedly striking a person with a metal baseball bat outside a Hackettstown barbershop on May 23, officials said.

WHARTON — Kyle Thornell blasted a triple, a home run and drove in four runs as the McLennan Community College baseball team topped Wharton, 11-8, in its season opener Wednesday.
