LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - If you’ve traveled into Lufkin since 2012, you may have noticed ‘Welcome to Lufkin’ signs on U.S. highways 59, 69, and State Highway 103.

The gateway markers for Interstate 69 cost $750,000 and will be funded with local income tax dollars. The Fort Wayne City Council approved this action in 2023.
