Nearly all properties in Catawba County needed for the widening of U.S. Highway 321 from Hickory to Lenoir have been acquired, according to a North Carolina Department of Transportation employee.

Charges are pending upon completion of the investigation and consultation with the Iredell County District Attorney’s office, highway patrol said.
