CHARLOTTE — The Wake Forest University School of Medicine campus in midtown Charlotte — the catalyst for a multilayer transformative healthcare initiative — formally opened its doors Monday.

The Linden Center in downtown Winston-Salem — a former Wachovia Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co. data center — has been purchased for $11.85 million by Wake Forest University Health Sciences.
