HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 28-year-old female from Chile is dead after hiking Wailua Falls. Kauai Police Department received a call about a lost hiker around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai police said a 28-year-old female has died Saturday afternoon at Wailua Falls. The woman has been identified as Nicole Chavez of Chile.

Two roads — Maalo Road by Wailua Falls and Kuamoo Road by the Wailua Reservoir — were closed around 6:40 a.m. Authorities cleared the area and reopened the roads around 9:15 a.m.
