VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — For years requests to improve Seatack Park in Virginia Beach's historic Seatack neighborhood have gone without action, but that could soon change.
The project waited in line until it was prioritized at the end of 2018, and Virginia Beach received a federal grant, administered by the Virginia Department of Transportation, for around $262,000.
But about 3 miles away, is an older, quieter community also called Atlantic Park. The community was recently recognized as one of Virginia Beach's historic Black neighborhoods.
