Los Angeles County officials and members from the Marine Mammal Care Center celebrated the end of the longest toxic domoic acid outbreak with the release of sea lion pups back into safer ocean waters.

Animal advocates gathered in Venice Beach on Wednesday to celebrate the release of four sea lion pups back into the wild.

Four sea lion pups were recently released back into the ocean after wildfire officials said the toxic domoic acid outbreak along Southern California’s coasts was over.
