Nearly 80 Big Lots in nine states, including Kentucky, will resume operations June 5 as part of the retailer’s fourth round of restarting operations at its stores bankruptcy.

Big Lots has reopened over 200 stores across the U.S. after filing for bankruptcy in 2024. Variety Wholesalers purchased Big Lots stores in 2024 and is leading the reopening efforts.

All wasn't lost when Variety Wholesalers took over 219 stores in December 2024. On June 5, Variety had reopened all 219 locations. None of those locations are in New Jersey.

According to Fox Business, Variety Wholesalers is planning to hold a "grand opening celebration" in the fall featuring "exciting new deals" at all 219 stores.
