Lamborghini's V12 has reached the end of the road. The Italian automaker has revealed the last two cars it will ever build powered purely by a gas-powered 12-cylinder engine.

The Countach also featured the 3.9-liter V12 engine, but later models, like the 1982 LP500S, were powered by a larger 4.8-liter V12 engine that increased power to 375 hp.

The 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 was good for 600 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque in the final model. That pushed the luxury sedan from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

Murray is not a fan of the way turbochargers blunt throttle response, so this V12 is naturally aspirated. Peak power is 654hp (488kW) at 11,500rpm, with another 600 revs before the redline.
