UNK students Ike Smith and Daniel McCarty, both of Kearney, and Dan Shipley of Fremont have been selected as members of the 2025 National Intercollegiate Band.

KEARNEY — More than 1,000 area band students will perform at the annual University of Nebraska at Kearney Band Day competition on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance will welcome students from 101 high schools across Nebraska for the annual Honor Band & Choral Clinic.

The first performance, starting at 5:30 p.m., will feature the UNK Wind Ensemble, Festival Band and Honor Band.
