A Lynchburg man was killed Friday when a train struck him on the James River trestle between Lynchburg and Amherst County. The 35-year-old man was identified as Robert Aaron Harbridge, of Lynchburg.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Roman Fronk died after he failed to yield to an oncoming train shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the town of Alma. Fronk was pronounced dead at the scene.
