Built in as Mount Pisgah Lutheran Church, commonly known as First Lutheran Church, it was home to the oldest Lutheran congregation in Indianapolis. Mount Pisgah Lutheran was first organized in 1837.

CROWN POINT — The Rev. J.F. Beyer and a handful of Crown Point residents founded Trinity Lutheran Church and School on Aug. 8, 1868.

Trinity Lutheran Church started in Crown Point in 1861 during the start of the Civil War. The congregants started meeting in homes and later a wooden church building in the 1870s.
