PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A shark attack on a British tourist in the southeastern Caribbean prompted the government of Trinidad and Tobago to close seven beaches and a marine park.

According to the U.S. Embassy, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago declared a SOE on December 30, 2024. That warning was extended by three months on January 13th, 2025.
