A severe thunderstorm on July 1 produced a tornado that tore through St. Mary’s County, causing tree and property damage, according to the National Weather Service.

St. Mary’s County has 33 confirmed tornadoes since 1950, according to Tornado Path, which provides tornado warning information for communities across the United States.
