Tinley Park is telling the state to bring a DMV to the southwest suburb after Orland Township voted to close the office on 149th Street.

The Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is pushing back after Orland Township officials voted to close the state's busiest DMV.

TINLEY PARK, Ill. - Tensions remain high after the Orland Township Board of Trustees voted earlier this week to shut down its local Department of Motor Vehicles office.

The office said Arabi was struck by multiple vehicles. Tinley Park police and fire assisted and closed La Grange Road between Interstate 80 and 183rd Street Friday night.

Just days after Orland Township trustees controversially voted to close the Orland Park DMV, a nearby suburb is offering to step into its place.

Among improvements to the park are a new pavilion, new playground equipment, a freshly paved parking lot, and new picnic tables and benches.
