Pittsford, N.Y. — A man faces charges after a standoff with police Thursday morning shut down the New York State Thruway between Henrietta and Victor.

Thruway traffic was backed up for nearly three hours after multiple accidents blocked the westbound lane between Weedsport and Syracuse on Monday afternoon, state police said.
