The body of Sunshine Stewart was found July 3 at Crawford Pond in Union, Maine, the morning after she went paddleboarding.

“The Maine State Police recognizes the fear and discomfort that this incident has brought to the town of Union and the Crawford Pond community,” police said in a statement.

The Maine State Police tactical team was involved in a situation with a barricaded person in Wilton Friday afternoon. The sheriff's office was referring all questions to state police.

Sunshine Stewart was found dead after she went paddleboarding near Union, Maine, on July 2. Her death was ruled a homicide July 3.
