ARLINGTON — Texas Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka exited Tuesday’s game vs. the Athletics at Globe Life Field with hamstring tightness and will be reevaluated Wednesday.

The Tigers limped into the All-Star Break, and they are struggling coming out of it as well. After getting shut out in the first game of the series on Friday night, Detroit had little to show for it on Saturday. The Rangers are set to get another couple pitchers back soon, but may have lost another on Sunday. Relief pitcher Chris Martin made an early exit during his appearance against the Tigers, appearing to tweak something in his right leg on a play in which the Tigers scored the go-ahead run off Martin in the eighth inning.

Veteran reliever Chris Martin will likely miss at least a month for the Texas Rangers after being put on the injured list because of a left calf strain.

The Detroit Tigers were limited to four hits and lost, 2-0, to the Texas Rangers on Friday, July 18, in the opener of a three-game series at Globe Life Field. The Rangers scored both runs off Kahnle, a right-handed reliever, in the eighth inning.
