TEXAS CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- Police shut down the Texas City Dike Pier after a beach party promoted on social media got out of hand on Saturday.

Free Fishing Day is meant to encourage more people to try fishing, officials with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have said. It’s not the only way to fish for free, though.
