Thousands of Israelis gathered on Saturday night across the country, on the eve of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, to demand from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he not resume the war until the last of the 98 kidnapped individuals who remain captive is back home.

Three hostages released from Gaza have been handed over to Israeli forces and crossed into Israel in the first test of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Hundreds of aid trucks were beginning to enter Gaza, which has been devastated by airstrikes and shelling in the wake of Israel’s response to Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023 cross-border terrorist attack.
