Veteran winger Chris Kreider is heading to the Anaheim Ducks as part of a trade from the New York Rangers. The teams completed the deal Thursday. The Rangers are getting center prospect Carey Terrance and a third-round pick from the Ducks for Kreider and a fourth-round pick, plus the salary cap space they can use this summer.

But there is one development that could have lasting ramifications. Kreider wanted to come to Anaheim, just as Jacob Trouba did when the Ducks came calling last December after the Rangers no longer wanted his services. In recent years, the Ducks have been on players’ no-trade lists when they are annually submitted.

A person with knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that Chris Kreider has agreed to move his no-trade clause to accept a trade from the New York Rangers to the Anaheim Ducks.
