Preliminary exam began for former Warren Police Officer James Burke, who is charged with two counts of homicide-manslaughter with a motor vehicle in deaths.

PORTER COUNTY — A motorcycle driver and his juvenile passenger were seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a pickup truck Saturday afternoon, the Porter County Sheriff's Office said.

The accused appeared to remain locked up Monday morning at the Porter County Jail and has not yet been given the option to post bond.
